CHEESE STUFFED SAUSAGE ROLLS

RECIPES FOR ORDINARY DAYS WHEN YOU WANT TO CREATE SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY WITH VERY LITTLE FUSS.

Once in a while you want to have something just a little special for breakfast but you don't want to spend hours and hours making it. Here is a nifty little idea that you can pop into the oven and when you take it out it will be hot, cheesy and delicious. These marvelous little cheese stuffed sausage rolls will disappear right before your eyes because everyone will love them! They don't take much time and a minimum of mess. The best part is that you don't have to 'make' anything, all you do is assemble everything because most of the work is already done for you. As long as you have everything you need for the rolls on hand, you can put them together in about ten minutes. Life is good when you have something like this to brighten your breakfast and fill up hungry tummies. Here is how I made them:

1. Start with a pound of pre-made sausage links. I used Jimmy Dean's Turkey Sausage, but you can use whatever kind you like.

2. Split them in half length-wise.

3. Slice up some cheddar cheese and lay the cheese down the middle.

4. Next, open a can of biscuits. I would recommend that you use only Pillsbury Grands Homestyle biscuits. They are by far the best for these. The other kinds just don't work as well.

5. Cut the biscuits in half.

6. Roll them out flat with a rolling pin.

7. Wrap up the cheese stuffed sausage with the biscuits. Make sure you seal all the holes to keep the cheese from leaking out. Bake them in a 350 degree oven for approximately 15 minutes or until they are all browned. This recipe makes about 16 sausage rolls. Enjoy!
