RASPBERRY SHERBET FRAPPE

RECIPES THAT MAKE YOU GLAD YOU HAVE A STOVE TO COOK ON AND PANS TO COOK WITH.

Once again we have a recipe that requires no real cooking but it's still worth including here because it actually DOESN'T need cooking which is a plus when you're hot and bothered or you're in a hurry. This is easy to put together and because it makes a lot, you can store it in a covered container in your freezer where it is ready for you to pull out at a moment's notice and serve to your guests or just yourself when you're in need of something sweet and delicious. You can use either pineapple or raspberry sherbet. In this recipe I used the raspberry and it turned out just fine, but the pineapple does give it a little different flavor and makes it not quite so pink. I know it seems strange that a raspberry recipe calls for cherry Kool-Aid, but ours is not to question why, ours is but to do or die so just go ahead and use the cherry. It gives it a nice flavor and adds to the color. Once again, you can do with this recipe just as you like so if you prefer not to put in bananas but would rather have something else instead, go right ahead, no one will be offended. However, they do add to the texture and I don't know many people who don't like bananas in their frappe. This is a good thing to serve when you have the 'fam' over for movie night or whenever you need something quick and easy that is as refreshing as it is fun to eat.
This recipe makes a lot, too.

2 cartons pineapple or raspberry sherbet
5 bananas cut into small pieces
1 package cherry Kool-Aid
1 package frozen raspberries
1 qt. Sprite Zero, 7-Up or any carbonated beverage of your choice. (Perrier is also good for this.)
Whipped cream and sprinkles for garnish

1. Soften the sherbet until you can easily stir it with a spoon. This takes about 20 minutes at room temperature. You can speed it up if you put it in the microwave for 1-2 minutes but be careful and don't melt it too much.

2. Add the Kool-Aid and the fruit to this mixture. Stir until everything is well-blended.

3. Pour it into a large container that has a lid and put it back in the freezer until it has had a chance to freeze solid.
4. Spoon it into fancy dessert glasses and pour some of your favorite carbonated beverage over the top. Serves 10-15. Enjoy!
